Marcy Bandick

Strategic Problem-Solver, Insightful, Knowledgeable, Truth-Teller, Synthesizer, Outcomes Focused

Marcy is an HR professional with three decades of proven leadership experience. After getting her BA in Economics at Brandeis University, she headed to Berkeley to get an MBA from the University of California in Organizational Behavior.

An opportunity at Eli Lilly and Company brought Marcy to Indianapolis where she rapidly ascended the corporate ladder with increasing HR responsibilities. In only a few years, she moved from HR associate supporting the HR and Corporate Affairs functions to HR manager supporting seven Global Services functions.

A global, multi-function SAP implementation project brought Marcy into several new roles including reengineering HR processes, initially leading the SAP talent management global design, and ultimately being promoted to lead the HR team supporting this initiative.

Following the successful implementation of this assignment, Marcy led a 40-person HR and recruiting team in the US Affiliate to support the Primary Care/Neuroscience division, an organization with four billion in sales and 4,000 employees nationwide. Filling more than 1,200 jobs each year, leading succession management efforts and managing change through several organizational realignments were the hallmarks of this assignment for Marcy.

Marcy moved back into the global arena as strategic HR partner supporting seven Global Services functions and 5,200 employees. She coached senior executives, partnered to build and implement new organizational models and defined accountability and leadership expectations. Her efforts to diagnose organizational effectiveness, manage talent and succession processes, and lead employee relations activities all contributed to one key mandatory metric…increased employee engagement.

In Marcy’s final role with Lilly, she led the global learning and development organization. In this leadership role, she collaborated with functional learning and development leaders to build and implement a global learning strategy, a new organizational model and learning management system, as well as delivered global leadership development programs and initiatives. In addition, she introduced Lilly University as a new global employee development channel and provided educational solutions for the Global Services functions.

After years of leading on a global scale, Marcy decided to retire from Lilly. It didn’t take long for this take charge, high-energy leader to find her way to The Strategy Forums.

Today, Marcy co-chairs six Forums for CEOs, Presidents, HR Directors, CFOs and key executives. In addition with The Strategy Forums, she coaches executives in a variety of industries and conducts sessions and workshops to maximize team effectiveness.

And, as if that isn’t enough, Butler has tapped Marcy to teach organizational behavior in the Lacy School of Business. Marcy also has found time to serve on various not-for-profit boards. Her love of education and commitment to growing young leaders has led her to key board positions at University High School.

Personally, Marcy and her husband, Mike, live in Zionsville. Though they have both managed highly successful careers, they have also managed to raise three individually accomplished sons.
